The Morning Routine Template

A morning routine isn’t unnecessary over-regimentation. Rather, it’s the foundation your entire day stands on, every day.

It’s an invitation to exercise discipline, yes, but what lies beyond that is the chance to show up for yourself consistently. Every time you exercise discipline is an opportunity to stay in integrity with yourself.

Contrary to the multitude of online resources that will tell you exactly what you need to do, your morning routine should be what serves you best. It’s tempting to fill a schedule with activities just because they’re ‘good for us’. Try and push that aside for now. Instead, try to create a routine that is built around you and your needs, no matter how much it goes against the grain.

If it makes you happy to wake up to each day, you’re doing it right. If it sets each day off with a little more momentum than you had the day before, you’re doing it right. If your life is better because of it, and you feel consistently aligned with your direction and goals, you’re doing it right.

Nobody else’s opinion should count.
